Artist in Residence
About Me
I was born and raised in Mumbles, Swansea, known for being a traditional fishing village on the Gower peninsula of S.Wales. It is from an abundance of these beautiful scenic coastlines that have surrounded me through my life that my inspiration is constantly fuelled. I create textured paintings of various sizes and produce digitally enhanced framed photographic artwork of local scenes around Gower and West Wales. Paintings. Within my paintings I strive to create a piece of art that evokes similar feelings to that of the actual scene. That is, of being at one with the natural rawness of nature ,the sky, the sand ,the sea and the elements and to create a feeling of escapism, freedom, harmony & restfulness taking us away from the daily grind of ugly man made structures that bombard our lives more and more so. I would describe my paintings as contemporary but with a certain traditional element mixed in. They consist of a variety of media and I use texture, depth & movement to convey the mood. I tend to paint in batches, using a series of colours and apply layers of paint simultaneously. I apply several layers of paint and various other material, mainly using my hands and fingers and only use a 'conventional' paintbrush for finer details. I use photographs and sketches to create a scene and use my artistic license to create a piece that is aesthetically pleasing. I also enjoy photography and digitally enhancing images to create individual artwork. I enhance my photographic artwork to create a vintage / aged appeal , print, cut and paste them to create a waxy surface which in turn makes them individual. My splashback collection is created in almost HD Quality, so you’ll almost want to touch the surface!

ENTER SIZE WIDTH (mm) WIDTH OF GLASS REQUIRED
We advise you deduct 3mm from the actual width if fitting between any fixed surfaces (for example between two wall units).
HEIGHT (mm) HEIGHT OF GLASS REQUIRED
We advise you deduct 3mm from the actual height required if fitting between any fixed surfaces (for example between your worktop and cooker hood).

SELECT A FIXING OPTION Fixing options SPLASHBACK FITTING OPTIONS
Glass Splashbacks can be screw fitted to the wall using mirror screws, which makes them easier to remove or for a more permanent fixing method you can stick to the wall using our adhesive. We would normally recommend sticking to the wall for a sleeker look (no mirror headed screws will be visible- just beautiful coloured glass).
CLEAR AND TINTED GLASS CANNOT BE FITTED WITH ADHESIVE (as you will see it through the glass)- please select the screw fitting method for these pieces.

WOULD YOU LIKE EASY CLEAN/NON STICK COATING? Fixing options EASY CLEAN COATING
Our easy clean coating is a product called 6K from CR Laurence, it is applied to the glass during production and essentially makes the glass non stick. Unlike products we have used in the past (that can be cleaned off), 6K actually bonds to the surface of the glass meaning your glass stays cleaner for longer.
GLASS THICKNESS Fixing options CHOOSING A GLASS THICKNESS
We can supply our toughened glass in a number of different thicknesses, primarily for different uses.
4mm & 6mm - ideal for use as a Glass Splashback behind your hob, surface protection or table tops. 6mm is the most common but 4mm is perfectly suitable also.
10mm may also be used as a splashback if you wish to match upstand thicknesses, it is also a great table top thickness.
19mm is really only necessary as a worktop but 10mm is actually a very good worktop thickness also.
GLASS FINISH Fixing options GLASS FINISH
We can supply our coloured glass splashbacks in the standard gloss, highly reflective finish, which is of course incredibly popular. However, we now supply Brushed Glass™ (manufactured by Ember Glass) which is a non reflective matt type finish. Brushed glass is not available in Low Iron (Opti White) glass though, so it will have a slight green tinge which will affect lighter colours such as white making it a very light green.
CUT OUTS Fixing options SOCKET CUT OUTS OR NOTCHES
Cut outs - If you are fitting the glass around (behind) a plug socket, or pipework etc. then you will need us to cut holes in the glass during the manufacturing process.
Notches - these are mostly necessary if you are fitting around an upstand, perhaps a bit of cornice on your kitchen units (although we would recommend you trim the cornice and fit behind), or perhaps just another obstruction that means you cannot order a simple rectangle...in this scenario we will need to CNC shape the glass for you.
For cut outs and notches, select the number you require and we will be in touch with you after ordering to find out where they go!
